This regulated, accredited Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing Refresher course is ideal for anyone that has completed a regulated food safety course before. If you have an existing certificate but need an up to date, recognised food safety qualification, this is the course for you.

A refresher of the topics covered in the standard Level 2 Award in Food Safety is covered either at your premises, or remotely on Zoom. A regulated, accredited qualification, this course can save you time.

Course Details

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing Refresher (RQF). Half-day course with regulated exam.

This course is suitable for:

Anyone that has previously achieved a full regulated food safety qualification. A copy of the original certificate is required before enrollment on this course.

As a refresher course, this can save you time, without needing to complete the full qualification again. 

 

Duration and assessment:

This course is a half-day course and is assessed by a multiple choice exam with a pass mark of 12/20.

 When completed remotely on Zoom, a precourse workbook is completed prior to the course. A 3-hour Zoom refresher session is followed by completing the exam online using a remote invigilation app.

Course Content

The course content includes a refresher of the following subjects:

  • the consequences of poor hygiene in food manufacturing premises 
  • most common causes of food poisoning 
  • microbiology (contamination, growth & destruction of bacteria) and food poisoning; key characteristics 
  • food contamination; types of contamination and preventing contamination of food 
  • allergenic hazards and controls 
  • HACCP 
  • Food safety during delivery, storage, production, packing and dispatch
  • Food handlers’ responsibilities regarding personal hygiene 
  • The importance of cleaning in food manufacturing premises
  • Pest control
  • Design and construction requirements for food manufacturing premises 
  • Food safety legislation and due diligence

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing Refresher can be run at your premises, or remotely on Zoom with remote invigilation. 

All candidates completing this qualification must provide a copy of their original regulated Level 2 Award in Food Safety qualification. 

For remote training, a workbook is sent out to each candidate to complete before the course. The course is run on Zoom at a time to suit you, with the exam completed online using a remote invigilation app. Results are available immediately, certificates are emailed the same day (subject to delays due to invigilation checks).
