Level 3 Award in Food Allergen Management in Catering
The Level 3 Award in Food Allergen Management for Catering course is a one and a half day, regulated Level 3 allergens qualification, accredited by Highfield Qualifications.
Aimed at anyone with responsibility for ensuring allergens are managed effectively. It provides candidates with an understanding of the most common food allergens, how to prevent allergen contamination, identifying allergens, allergen legislation, and elements of an effective allergen management system.
The course can be run at your premises or remotely on Zoom with online exam using a remote invigilation app.

Course Details
Level 3 Award in Food Allergen Management in Catering (RQF). One and a half-day course with regulated exam.
This course is suitable for:
Anyone that has responsibility for the provision of allergen information in a food premises, chefs, supervisors, managers, owners.
Duration and assessment:
This course is a one and a half-day course and is assessed by a multiple choice exam with a pass mark of 18/30.
A distinction is awarded for 24/30 and above.
The remote training option is blended learning; a precourse workbook to complete prior to a 1 day Zoom session before an online exam.

- allergic reactions
- common food allergens
- allergen legislation
- how to prevent allergen contamination
- how to identify food allergens
- how to effectively communicate food allergens
- allergen labelling of prepacked foods for direct sale, open foods and packaged foods
- elements of an effective allergen management system
This course is recognised by Allergy UK as suitable staff training to apply for the Allergy Aware Scheme. This can provide reassurance to customers of the procedures in place to control allergens

The Level 3 Award in Food Allergen Management for Catering can be run at your premises, or remotely on Zoom with remote invigilation.
For remote training, a workbook is sent out to each candidate to complete before the course. The course is run on Zoom at a time to suit you, with the exam completed online using a remote invigilation app. Results are available immediately, certificates are emailed the same day (subject to delays due to invigilation checks).
